Our New Assistant Manager
Please say “Hi” to our new, “new” Assistant Manager – Holly Marban
For as long as I can remember, I have had a passion for food. I feel at home in the kitchen and find joy cooking for myself and others, creating new recipes, playing in the garden, and studying the ways in which food is medicine. That passion took me through grad school, where I earned a Master’s degree in Nutrition and became utterly convinced of the healing power of food.
Having recently returned to Sitka, I feel strongly about the importance of access to fresh, affordable, and high quality whole foods, despite the ways in which living on our island can make that difficult. The Sitka Food Co-op and the strong community behind it make affordable nutrition a possibility. I am an avid supporter of the cooperative’s mission to nourish the Sitka community through healthy food, and I’m excited to be a part of that effort.
In addition to my work at the Sitka Food Co-op, I can also be found providing holistic nutrition coaching sessions in the community, teaching cooking classes at the Sitka Kitch, and supporting new moms and babies as a postpartum doula. Outside of work, you can find me hiking, playing with pups, picking mountain berries, searching for whales, practicing yoga, or Facetiming with my adorable baby nieces. ~ Holly Marban
