Ordering may appear complicated at first, but once you get the hang of it, you’ll be adding more items with confidence to your online cart.
For first time users of Foodclub, we recommend you check out our web tutorial: “How To Order Through Foodclub”
We also offer “one-on-one” lessons to help new members learn the “tips & tricks” of ordering through the Foodclub site. Just email us and ask to set up a meeting.
To get started… there are five suppliers that you can choose to order from:
United Natural Foods (via foodclub)
Equal Exchange (via foodclub)
Fresh Produce (via foodclub)
GENERAL POLICY ON ALL ORDERS
Please note the following:
- Occasionally shipping errors occur. It is the member’s responsibility to double-check that their order (the items and quantities) matches their invoice before leaving the pick-up location. If something is missing please notify us before paying for the order. If a member leaves the pick-up location without notifying us we may not be able to get, or give, the appropriate credit for the missing item.
- A $25 late pickup fee will apply to any order that is not picked up during the time specified for order pickups. We recognize that our pickup times are limited and may not work for everyone, but until we have the capability to store orders or make deliveries, we have to minimize late pickups. We encourage members to ask a friend or family member to help out and pick up up your order (with payment) if you cannot make it.
UNITED NATURAL FOODS/UNFI (via foodclub)
When to order?
- Once a month, due by midnight on the Saturday ordering deadline posted on our Deadlines & Deliveries page.
How to order?
- Create a foodclub account (skip this step if you already have one): Go to: https://foodclub.org/sitkafoodcoop/login and register for your own account. Note: It can take up to 24 hours to have your account activated, so sign up before you are ready to place your order. If you have questions or problems, email us at: sitkafoodcoop@gmail.com.
- Note: You only need one account to order from either United Natural Foods, Equal Exchange, and/or Fresh Produce.
- Login to foodclub with your existing user name and password.
- Click on “Order” in the menu. Use the category buttons (e.g., “Bulk,” “Frozen,” “Grocery” etc.) to browse products, or use the “search” box at the top of the page. Once you find an item you want, enter the quantity and click “add.” Note: the “Fulls cases” page is ordering just that – entire cases… or for single items (ie: a single 2 oz bottle of vanilla) that can’t be split with another member.
- Click on “Splits” in the menu. You can post requests for partial case orders and if enough other people order it will be added to the Final order that will be sent to the distributor. (Hint: The earlier you post your request for a split the more people will see it and the better chances it will be filled!) You can also browse the “splits” page and see what other members have put in a split request for… it may be just what you’re looking for!
A few notes about United Natural Foods (UNFI) and foodclub.org:
- There is no SUBMIT button. Anything in your cart will be ordered when the next order is placed.
- Split cases that are not filled will not be ordered. You can see when a case is full when it goes from red to black.
- If you had something in your cart that did not get ordered, it will be deleted after the order is placed. If you want it next time, you have to add it again.
Is membership required to order?
- No. However, non-members pay an additional 10% on their order total so why not join? It’s easy to sign up and only costs $50 a year. Sign up now! Become a member today! Plus you are supporting a new local business in Sitka and the cooperative business model.
What is the cost?
- You pay the price listed on foodclub plus the City of Sitka’s sales tax. Note: non-members pay an additional 10% on their order total.
- The prices shown in Foodclub include all shipping and handling costs.
How do I check-out?
- Since your cart is automatically saved, whatever is in your cart when the order is closed will be ordered. Payment is due when you pick up your order. We accept cash, check, or credit card (no debit cards at this time). For credit card payments there is a 3% convenience fee charged on your total order to cover credit card fees.
When and where do I pick up my order?
- Orders can be picked up at ANB Hall (235 Katlian St.) from 3 – 6 PM on order delivery days. Emails are always sent to all who order as a reminder of when and where to pick up your order, and if any changes in delivery date/time occur.
